Pengelolaan serta penggunaan konfigurasi kamera dan sistem juga telah diperbarui di Sistem Tampilan yang Diperluas (EVS) 1.1. Karena EVS 1.0 tidak menyediakan metode untuk kueri informasi perangkat kamera dan konfigurasi sistem, developer aplikasi harus memperoleh informasi itu sendiri. Misalnya, klien harus memiliki kamera data kalibrasi jika mengimplementasikan beberapa aplikasi computer vision.

Jika klien meminta untuk membuka perangkat kamera yang sudah aktif, EVS pengelola membandingkan konfigurasi streaming yang diminta dengan konfigurasi aktif. Jika berbeda, pengelola EVS akan menampilkan objek IEvsCamera null. Klien HARUS menangani kemungkinan kegagalan ini dengan benar.

File konfigurasi referensi yang disertakan dalam EVS 1.1 ditulis dalam XML dan vendor dapat menggunakan file DTD yang disertakan (ditampilkan di bawah) untuk memvalidasi (diubah) contoh file konfigurasi atau menggunakan file mereka sendiri jika mereka ingin menggunakan format yang sama.
